Ricardo Mehedff graduated from the George Washington University in 1991. He worked in Los Angeles for six years at the FOX and Warner Bros. studios before moving to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil in 1998. In Brazil, Ricardo directed, produced and edited several award winning films that participated in over 100 festivals worlwide including: Rotterdam, Toronto, Oberhausen, Berlin, New York, Los Angeles, Havana, Guadalajara, Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo. As a film editor, his credits include, Doc. Features: ‘Favela on Blast’ by Leandro Hbl & DJ Diplo, 'The Gracies and the birth of Vale Tudo' by Victor Cesar Bota and ‘July War’ by Brandon Jourdan and Francisca Caporali; Feature Films: ‘Irma Vep’ by Carla Camurati, ‘Dealing with Death’ by Marcelo Taranto and ‘The Wedding of Romeo & Juliet’ by Bruno Barreto; and TV Series: ‘Carandiru: Other Stories’, episode directed by Walter Carvalho and ‘Antonia: the series’ produced by O2 Films. Ricardo also revolutionized the way theatrical trailers are created in the Brazilian film industry. To date he has created and edited countless trailers including: ‘City of God’ by Fernando Meirelles, ‘Carandiru’ by Hector Babenco’, ‘House of Sand’ by Andrucha Waddington, ‘Lower City’ by Sergio Machado and ‘The Motorcycle Diaries’ by Walter Salles.
